Well, the Henkes are on the road again. Jake and I (Martina) are in Minneapolis for the Schwan USA Cup. I'll be keeping you all updated the best I can. Happily, the hotel has free wireless, so it should be easy. The boys are enjoying the idea that they are on the internet:
Jake's soccer team, the CISC Velocity 94 RipTide, arrived in Minneapolis at 9:10 PM last night. Our flight was long but uneventful, although luggage took over an hour to get to us. There was a Schwann Cup representative to meet us at the luggage area, and get us to our hotel. The boys were starving, so 8 large pizzas were ordered en route to the hotel, and scarfed down in record time once they arrived. By the time everything was said and done, we were able to get into or rooms around midnight MN time...
We met in the breakfast room by 8 AM this morning, and surprisingly, the boys were up and at 'em! We will see how they are feeling later today when the time change really hits them!
When you enter the hotel there is a map welcoming Schwann Cup teams to the area. There are 3 Velocity teams staying here, as well as a team from Columbia. I'm including a little view of the various places that teams are arriving from...
The boys are outside having their first team meeting. We have a "pick-up" game later this morning. I will post again soon!
Gee, I think if you tried, you could have stuffed a few more boys in your room around that computer! :P Wish Jakey luck for me! And omg go to the mall - it rocks.
